Terms & Conditions

1. General Agreement

By participating in any service offered by Split Rock Equestrian Centre, you (the client, rider, or parent/guardian) agree to abide by the following Terms and Conditions. These apply to all lessons, training, clinics, camps, and events. Events may have additional terms, conditions, and cancellation policies.

2. Assumption of Risk and Liability Waiver

Horseback riding and related activities involve inherent risks. By participating, you acknowledge:

  • You understand and accept all risks associated with equine activities.

  • You release Split Rock Equestrian Centre, its staff, and affiliates from liability for injury, loss, or damage.

  • You will sign a liability waiver before participating in any activities.

3. Safety Rules

All riders must:

  • Wear ASTM/SEI-approved helmets while mounted if under the age of 18.

  • Wear appropriate footwear (boots with heels).

  • Follow all posted and verbal safety instructions.

  • Respect all animals and fellow participants.

Split Rock Equestrian Centre reserves the right to refuse service to anyone disregarding safety or behaving inappropriately.

4. Payment & Cancellation Policy

  • Payment is due before or at the time of service unless otherwise arranged.

  • Cancellations require at least 24 hours' notice to avoid being charged in full.

  • Late Cancellations (within 24 hours) will be charged $10.

  • No-shows will be billed in full.

  • Lesson packages are non-refundable but may be transferable.

5. Use of Schooling Horses

  • Riders using Split Rock’s schooling horses must treat them with care and respect.

  • Horses are assigned based on rider suitability and availability.

  • Split Rock reserves the right to substitute horses at any time.

6. Riders Using Their Own Horses

  • Horses must be in good health and up-to-date on vaccinations and deworming.

  • Owners are responsible for their horse’s care, tack, and behavior on the premises.

  • Split Rock is not liable for injuries to or caused by client-owned horses.

7. Lessons

  • Small group sizes (up to 3 riders).

  • Riders should arrive early and be ready to begin on time.

  • Lessons are based on skill level and instructor discretion.

8. Facility Rules

  • No smoking, drugs, or alcohol on the premises.

  • Children must be supervised at all times.

  • Please do not feed or handle horses without permission.

9. Photography & Media

  • Photos and videos may be taken during activities for promotional use.

  • Let us know in writing if you prefer not to have your image used.

10. Changes to Terms

Split Rock Equestrian Centre reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Clients will be notified of significant changes.
